Martin Nievera strengthens his MarTeam lineup by recruiting Francine Benitez, the younger sister of IV of Spades’ lead vocalist, Zild Benitez, in the recent episode of “The Voice Teens Philippines” Season 3.
In the Saturday episode aired last March 16, 15-year-old Francine impressed Coach Martin with her rendition of the OPM hit “Sundo” by Moonstar88, leading the Concert King to turn his chair during her blind audition.
Although coaches Bamboo and KZ Tandingan did not turn their chairs for Francine, they commended her effort, acknowledging her potential to shine in the acoustic music scene in the future.
Moreover, four auditionees captivated Martin, Bamboo, and KZ with their three-chair turning performances. Former “The Voice Kids” contestant Tiffany Vistal (16 y.o.), known for her whistling voice, secured a spot on KZ’s Team Supreme with her rendition of “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw.” Similarly, Joselle Pawiga (17 y.o.) from Cebu and Edzel Gorospe (17 y.o.) from Subic both chose KZ following their impressive performances of “Till My Heartaches End” and “Ikaw Lang,” respectively.
Martin also added Oxy Dolorito (13 y.o.) to his team, impressing all three judges with his rendition of Pilita Corrales’ classic track “Usahay.”
After Week 5 of blind auditions, Coach Martin’s team now comprises 16 teen artists, including recent additions Francine, Oxy, and Thenshi Santos (15 y.o.). Bamboo’s Kamp Kawayan has 14 hopefuls, with the latest addition of chorale member Elle Manalili (15 y.o.). Meanwhile, KZ’s Team Supreme is complete with 13 artists, including three-chair turners Tiffany, Joselle, and Edzel, along with Arvery Lagoring (16 y.o.) and Justin Reolada (17 y.o.).
Don’t miss the upcoming blind auditions on “The Voice Teens Philippines” Season 3, airing Saturdays and Sundays on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
