Writing a book is one of the most common bucket list goals among writers and non-writers alike. There’s just something special about seeing your name on the front cover of a book that you wrote, and having your fiction or non-fiction writing read by actual readers.
Unfortunately, most people don’t get to achieve this dream, even though they have a story or expertise worth sharing. To address this gap, Bookshelf PH is hosting a master class, Build Your Bestseller: How to Write and Publish Your First Book, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Ayala Malls Cloverleaf as part of its Buy the Book fair.
The master class will cover all the fundamentals of getting a book from idea to print, including book conceptualization, book writing, book editing, book printing, marketing, and even the merits of self-publishing versus traditional publishing. The end goal of the master class is for writers to have a roadmap to finally publish their book.
The master class proper will last from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, and this will be followed by breakout sessions during which the attendees can have individual consultations with the writers and editors in attendance.
Pancho Dizon, the lead facilitator, feels that the venus is especially appropriate for this kind of course.
“When publishing a book in the Philippines, it’s important to not only think of the craftsmanship involved, but of your audience. You want to conceptualize and structure your book in such a way that it strikes an immediate nerve with readers. There’s no better place to remind writers of this fact than a mall. It’s our responsibility as writers to bring books to the cultural forefront,” said Dizon
Dizon has authored, co-authored, or edited close to ten books in non-fiction, including The 50, Fearless Filipinas; Opening the Archipelago; Healthy Buhay, Happy Mama; and many others. Many of his works have become bestsellers, and he has extensive experience in digital marketing, including media relations, social media marketing, content marketing, and more.
The publishing workshop will take place at Ayala Malls Cloverleaf on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Space for the workshop is limited, so interested writers should register here: https://forms.gle/NxFYDsGxn7LMgQXD9
