World Vision’s #OneBagOneDream Aims to Provide Learning Kits

It’s that time of year again—back-to-school season!

As the Philippines prepares for the new school year, many students are struggling with a significant challenge: affording school supplies. Research from the World Remit Study in 2023 reveals a 16% increase in school supply costs, placing extra pressure on family budgets. Families now need to allocate at least 51% of their monthly income for essential school items like pencils and notebooks.

To help ease this financial burden, World Vision is launching its annual Back-to-School Campaign, aimed at supporting and empowering children as they return to school.

This year’s campaign, #OneBagOneDream, seeks to raise funds to provide new learning kits worth Php1,000 each. Last year, World Vision distributed new kits to around 24,000 children in need.

“We believe every child deserves access to quality education regardless of their circumstances,” says Jun N. Godornes, Interim National Director of World Vision Philippines. “To make this happen, we need the support of more Filipinos.”

You can make a difference by donating to the Back-to-School Campaign or by sponsoring a child for as little as Php25 a day or Php750 a month. Your contribution will provide essential resources like education, clean water, health, and nutrition. As a sponsor, you’ll also build a meaningful connection with the child through letters, photos, and updates, helping them and their family escape poverty and build a better future.
