Why the Civil War?
The movie finds Commander Steve Rogers (Captain America) leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. Unfortunately, one incident resulted to collateral damage. Due to this, questions and political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the Avengers.
The new status quo divided the Avengers into two camps:
- Led by Captain America and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference
- Led by Tony Stark who supports the government oversight and accountability of the Avengers
And thus the action packed Civil War among the 2 camps of Avengers and battle between former allies.
The movie stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Marisa Tomei, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo and Martin Freeman, with William Hurt and Daniel Brühl.
It is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” will be the first film to utilize the new IMAX/Arri 2D Camera. This new camera will add “incredible scale to it” according to co-director Joe Russo.
IMAX has been very selective as to who utilizes this camera technology. Only Zack Snyder (“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice”), Brad Bird (“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”), Christopher Nolan (“Interstellar”), and J.J. Abrams (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) have use this camera technologist. The latest version IMAX/Arri 2D Camera has been christened by Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” .
To fully appreciate the film shot by this new IMAX/Arri 2D, it is best seen on screens in IMAX theatres. The wide screen of IMAX makes sure that no perspective is cut off from the frame.
“When you’re working on a Marvel film, there’s a sense of showmanship that goes along with the movies, and no exhibitor exploits that better than IMAX,” says Russo.
I will be watching the movie in IMAX or 4DX theaters.
