What to Expect in the Upcoming MPL Philippines Season 14

Biggest and longest-running professional esports league moves to a bigger venue, launches ticket sales, allows mid-season transfers, and more!

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14 is set to launch on August 16, 2024. This exciting season will run for eight weeks, with matches scheduled from Fridays to Sundays. Matches on Fridays and Sundays will begin at 5 pm, while Saturday matches will kick off at 2:30 pm.

This season is highly anticipated for several reasons: seasoned contenders have found new teams, major roster changes have been announced, new rules will be implemented, and there are more activities planned for the community. Here’s why MPL PH Season 14 promises to be the most exciting season of MLBB esports yet:

  1. MPL PH moves to a new venue; tickets on sale starting 5 August

MPL PH Season 14 is moving to a new venue at Green Sun Hotel, Makati for its 14th iteration. The larger venue will accommodate 300 on-site fans each broadcast day and feature activities designed to make the fan experience more immersive.

Starting August 5 at 1:00 PM, fans can purchase tickets to watch their favorite MPL PH icons in action. Tickets for all matches from Week 1 to Week 8 will be available at an early bird rate of PHP 160 until August 9, 11:59 PM. Beginning August 10, tickets will be sold at the regular price of PHP 200.

During the opening week, the first 50 ticketholders who redeem on-site per match will receive special chest codes. Fans attending consistently for all eight weeks of the regular season can earn in-game diamonds worth 1,000. Additionally, the first 100 fans to claim on the first day of the Playoffs at the MPL PH arena will receive these in-game rewards. 2. New teams, new rivalries, new stories

Aurora (RORA) is officially making its debut in MPL Philippines with a star-studded lineup poised to shake up the competition. Despite being new to the scene, their roster is filled with legacy players eager to claim the crown. The team includes seasoned stars from Blacklist International (BLCK): Edward “Edward” Dapadap, Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, and Renejay “Renejay” Barcase. Leading the team are former BLCK coaches Aniel “Master The Basics” Jiandani and Dexter Louise “DEXTAR” Alaba.

Meanwhile, BLCK will need to devise a new strategy, as more than half of their previous roster has moved to Aurora. Notable Filipino imports Michael “MPTHEKING” Endino and Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera have returned to the Philippines to join BLCK as their Jungler and EXP Laner, respectively. The spotlight is on the new wave of Codebreakers to see if they can succeed in their quest for the title without their main players. All eyes will be on their strategies and execution as they aim to win.

3. Former MPL PH Analyst Caisam “Wolf” Nopueto is joining TNC Pro Team as their Head Coach for the upcoming season. Known for his consistent presence on the MPL PH cast and the international talent desk for MLBB’s global events, Wolf brings a wealth of in-game knowledge to TNC. His analytical expertise could provide the team with the strategic edge they need as they undergo a massive rebuild ahead of MPL PH Season 14. Will his insights and strategies propel TNC to new heights this season?

4. New rules, including the open transfer system

The level of competition in MPL PH will be elevated further with now a full mid-season transfer ecosystem with their respective MLBB Development League (MDL) Philippines teams. Teams can make any adjustments in the middle of the season to position themselves the best to win the most-coveted MPL PH title. More information will be revealed soon!

    5. More community activities!

Apart from the meet and greet and merch-selling activities, MPL Philippines will also bring back the MPL Smart Battle Trips, an initiative that brings together MLBB fans from different cities, schools, or workplaces to watch the action on the ground. The league will also put the fans’ gaming skills to the test through the MPL PH Infinix Cup where community matches will be held in the arena during breaks.

Fans will have exciting opportunities to meet their favorite players, get their merchandise signed, and win exclusive in-game items through weekly raffles.

Dylan Chia, Head of Esports for the Philippines at MOONTON Games, shared, “Season 14 of MPL PH promises more than just spectacular moments and thrilling gameplay. With its highly competitive format and the introduction of a new esports organization, the season is set to be a landmark event. It’s going to be exhilarating to see who emerges as the champion of the largest MLBB esports tournament in the country.”

MPL Philippines Season 14 is proudly supported by Smart Communications, Inc. and Infinix as its official sponsors, with Index Salon and EMC Asia serving as the Official Suppliers.
