What Makes Traveling Worthwhile: Insights from Klook Dads!

Travel wisdom from the Klook Dads behind your favorite activities!

The journey to discovering what ignites your inner traveler requires dedication to exploring and experiencing various destinations and activities worldwide. Klook makes this easier by offering a wide range of listings led by travel professionals, from large enterprises to small, intimate family-run businesses. These small businesses have achieved remarkable success in their fields, growing from the ground up.

Through thick and thin, the fathers who run these businesses have amassed a wealth of experience and advice in tourism. What better way to navigate your journey toward your own world of joy than by consulting with the dads behind Klooker-favorite listings?

What do the Klook dads have to say?

Russel Terbio, a civil engineer by profession, took over his father Mike’s company, “Lexxus Shuttle,” managing a single shuttle van in the late ’90s. Through hard work and strategic partnerships, he has massively expanded the business and is now a proud owner at 50, with three lovely daughters.

With his wealth of experience, Russel has valuable insights on traveling. “When it comes to traveling, I advise my daughters to always prioritize their safety. This includes researching their destinations, understanding local customs, and being aware of their surroundings. I encourage them to stay connected with family and friends, keeping them informed of their whereabouts.” He also emphasizes the importance of making the most out of travels, viewing them as more than just photo opportunities. “I advise them to travel with an open mind, embracing new cultures and experiences while being respectful and considerate of the places they visit.”

Paolo Morillo, the current general manager of Hannah Hotel Boracay, is highly regarded by both locals and foreigners. At 39 and a father of one, Paolo has accumulated years of dedication and expertise, which he shares with both his family and customers. His favorite piece of advice is to dive deep into the destinations you plan to visit.

“As much as possible, try to really immerse yourself in the place you want to go. Talk and play with local kids, and eat their local food. Be mindful of the community, and develop a deeper understanding of the place and the people’s way of life.”

Kim Guzman grew up with “Eas-Ellen’s Travel & Tours,” founded by his parents during his grade school years. After graduating from college, Kim and his brother took over the business, drawing on their firsthand experience gained during school breaks to guide them in running the company.

Introduced to the beauty of travel at a young age by his parents, Kim advises first-time parents to do the same: “Travel first with your family. As they grow up, they can then explore the world on their own. Our children learn from us firsthand how to travel, and we hope they apply it when they travel independently in the future.”

Of course, no fatherly advice would be complete without a reminder to be well-prepared with all necessary documents. As Kim emphasizes, “Lastly, I remind my kids to ensure they have all necessary travel documents, insurance, and emergency contacts organized before they embark on their journeys.”

With Klook, families can discover the beauty of their chosen destinations, whether local or abroad. This not only creates lifelong memories but also fosters meaningful personal growth.
