Aicelle Santos’ musical journey started at a young age of six where she excelled in playing the Piano and gave her hopes of becoming a famous pianist one day. However, watching Walt Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” made her shift focus to singing. Joining and winning televised contests opened doors for Aicelle and in 2013, her career blossomed further as musical theater provided a purpose for her.
It was in Katy! The Musical where she felt at home.
Again, her abilities did not come unnoticed as rave reviews keep pouring in when she took roles in Rak of Aegis, and Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag, The Musical.
The years she spent performing has resulted in maturity as an artist and is for everybody to witness as Aicelle stars in her own show “Awit na Aicelle, Aicelle in Concert at the Music Museum”.
This lady has been addressed with different titles: Ballad Princess, Traffic Diva, Rock and Soul Diva, and Soul Flair Songstress.
In her said concert, she will be joined onstage by Gary Valenciano, Quest, Bullet Dumas, The Company, and Myke Salomon. The show will be Aicelle’s celebration of a life-long career that started from her first stint at “Star in a Million” up to the present.
Viewers of the concert are in for a great night as Aicelle will be performing songs from her self-produced album, Liwanag which includes Kapangyarihan ng Pag-ibig, Ikaw Pa Rin, and Palaging Ikaw
When asked about the title of the Concert she shared,”It could be Awit na Aicelle like Songs in Aicelle style; Awit na Aicelle.. it’s your turn to sing, go on. Yun yung pwedeng meaning nya.”
The talented singer/actress remains humble despite adulation of netizens saying she outshined most of the performers in Regine Velasquez’s concert.
“I am surprised. Hindi ako normally yung bumibirit diba? So, I was there to simply sing with Ate (Regine), just honor her and siguro talagang nagulat po ako. Kahit ako eh, I mean pagbaba ko ng stage and then maraming nagtweet and tag sakin ng videos. It’s very overwhelming.”she answered.
People keep wondering how her voice quality has never decreased.
Aicelle reveals how she takes care of her voice.”Now, according to my doctor I have to choose my battles kasi when you are a performer your tendency is to give it your your all every time. Syempre gusto mo 101 eh tuwing nasa stage ka. I still do that pero sabi nga ni Doc hindi all the time when you feel like you’re pagod and all, magtitira ka rin coz yun yung puhunan mo eh.”
Being an all-around performer, she plans to make sure she does not concentrate on one thing.
“Ako sabi ko sa sarili ko. I always want a musical each year kasi hinahanap-hanap talaga sya ng sistema mo. So, I have one next year. Next year, kung may bagong show pero mukhang maganda ang ratings ng “Impostora” so thank you to our viewers. The music..tuloy-tuloy lang sa paggawa, sa pagproduce, sa pagshare.Masarap syang gawin eh altogether. Keeps you alive. Keeps you want to do more. It gives you purpose eh, di ba?”she responded.
