Several cultures collide in “Under Parallel Skies,” a film produced by Richard Juan, directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, and starring Janella Salvador and Win Metawin.
The movie explores the tale of Parin portrayed by Win Metawin, a who travels from Thailand to Hong Kong in search of his mother. From there, he met Iris played by Janella Salvador, an OFW who works as a hotel receptionist.
The movie elaborate the culture of three countries such as Philippines, Thailand and Hong Kong as it features famous local sites like Kowloon City and Tai O, the movie was filmed in Hong Kong from June to July 2023 with assistance from the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Furthermore, many of the workers in Hong Kong are from the Philippines, where they are employed as domestic servants or in the hospitality industry that is why the film is relateable to many.
The film was released in the Philippines last April 17, and will released on Singapore and and Thailand.
