Filipino music lovers will get to witness the much-awaited 2021 American Music Awards in real-time as TV5 presents its first live telecast of the international music spectacle for all fans to enjoy. Bringing together today’s biggest names among the world’s largest music fandoms – including Bruno Mars, BTS, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, The Weeknd, and more – the star-studded event airs live on TV5 this November 22, Monday, at 9:00 AM.
The American Music Awardsis an annual international music eventcelebrating the greatest talents in the contemporary music scene. It is the world’s largest fan-voted awards show where winners are determined solely by the fans via voting on TikTok by searching for “AMAs” in-app. A vibrant night of non-stop music, this year’s AMAs boasts a powerful lineup featuring first-time collaborations and exclusive world premiere performances from music’s biggest names – from Pop to Rap to R&B to Country to Latin to K-Pop and more – as well as memorable moments that become pop-culture milestones. This year’s show will be hosted by Cardi B, a multi-awarded entertainer, rapper, and a five-time AMA winner. The American rapper also has three nominations at this year’s AMAs.
The AMAs will also feature pop powerhouse and first-time nominee Olivia Rodrigo,who makes her debut in the award show scoring seven nominations, including Artist of the Year and New Artist of The Year. Coming hot on her heels is five-time AMA winner The Weeknd, who earned six nominations this year. Alongside these two big artists, global superstars Ariana Grande, BTS, Drake and Taylor Swift will also be vying for the night’s top honor, the Artist of the Year award.
BTS Army members in the Philippines should definitely mark their calendars this Monday, November 22, as they can look forward to two highly anticipated world television premiere performances featuring BTS together with two equally powerhouse names in pop music. For the first time ever, BTS will be performing “Butter” together with Megan Thee Stallion, as well as the much-awaited live performance of “MY UNIVERSE” with the legendary British rock band Coldplay. Singer/songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, who leads this year with seven nominations, will also take over the stage for a can’t-miss performance to mark her AMAs debut.
Other A-list acts included in the stellar line-up of performers are Bruno Mars together with Anderson .Paak, Bad Bunny with Tainy and Julieta Venegas, Carrie Underwood with Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition and New Kids on the Block, Diplo, Måneskin, Mickey Guyton, Tyler The Creator, Walker Hayes and Zoe Wees.
