Every story has different angles to see.
In opening ourselves to see every piece of a story, singer-songwriter Trisha Denise is set to release her full-length album “Piece of the Puzzle” this Friday (May 28), featuring eight original tracks that boldly present her true form and maturity as an artist.
Its title track “Piece of the Puzzle,” according to the DNA Music artist, was partly inspired by people’s tendency to judge someone based only on what they see on social media.
“Today, when people see posts on social media, they will immediately resort to bashing in the comments. It’s sad that it happens even when people don’t really know the whole story,” she shared. “No one has the license to define us after seeing a piece of our puzzle.”
From inspirational songs drawn from personal experiences, Trisha’s new album widens her music to other people’s stories on love and heartbreak. Its release in the middle of the pandemic also exemplifies her bravery as an artist and her passion for her craft.
Another key track in the album is “Bakit Ba,” which focuses on the importance of closure in a relationship, no matter how difficult and painful it may be. “It stresses that there is always a choice to leave and move on instead of leaving the situation hanging. Initiating closure preserves each other’s dignity.”
Aside from “Piece of the Puzzle” and “Bakit Ba,” other tracks in the album are “Mahalin,” “Puwede Ba?” feat. rapper Arvey who also wrote his rap verse, “Miss Na Miss” with Dan Ombao, “Alalahaning Kalimutan,” “Strangers,” and “Ang Totoo.” All of these have been composed by Trisha and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
Having written songs since she was 11 years old, Trisha’s extensive discography as a songwriter has allowed her to work with and write songs for numerous music artists like Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Moira Dela Torre for the song “Unbreakable,” Jake Zyrus for “Diamond” and “Love Even If,” and Inigo Pascual for his collaboration with Chinese-Australian vlogger Wengie titled “Mr. Nice Guy,” among others.
