Malware Analysis Certification Program for the Cyber Battalion
At the national level, cyber threats have predominantly targeted the military, presenting a substantial risk to the Philippines’ economy, government, and businesses. As a result, it is imperative that the cybersecurity division within the Armed Forces of the Philippines is well-prepared to mitigate these risks.
To tackle this challenge, Trend Micro collaborated with the Cyber Battalion of the Army Signal Regiment (ASR) of the Philippine Army (PA) to conduct a 5-day certification program in Advanced Malware Analysis. This program immersed 17 personnel from the Cyber Battalion, two from the Network Enterprise Technology Battalion, and one from the Department of National Defense in activities that centered on advanced concepts related to extended detection and response. The program’s curriculum was carefully tailored to address the most pressing needs of cybercrime victims nationwide and provided participants with the essential tools to bolster the country’s cyber defense capabilities.

Furthermore, the company conducted a six-week immersive program aimed at providing intensive training to university faculty, enhancing their comprehension of cybersecurity. This program saw educators from esteemed institutions like the National University Philippines, PHINMA-Saint Jude College Manila, Saint Louis University, Technological University of the Philippines, and the University of Santo Tomas engaging in a range of lectures, workshops, and practical exercises.
