TPB Rakes in ₱200M+ in Sales Leads at IBTM World Barcelona

Highlighting the Philippines’ potential as a top-tier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E.) destination, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines participated in IBTM World 2024, held from November 19 to 21 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via. This prestigious event generated an impressive 203M in projected sales leads, underscoring the country’s growing prominence in the global M.I.C.E. industry.

As one of the world’s leading M.I.C.E. events, IBTM World annually brings together industry professionals, including event organizers, suppliers, and practitioners, to foster networking, collaboration, and business opportunities. This year’s event featured exhibitors showcasing destinations, venues, and services for hosting world-class events. Participants also engaged in pre-scheduled appointments, thought-leadership panels, workshops, and discussions on emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in the industry.

The TPB delegation, led by Ms. Teresita D.L. Landan, Acting Head of the Office of the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Marketing and Promotions, actively promoted the country’s M.I.C.E. capabilities. A hosted breakfast event for over 100 international buyers and media attendees was a key highlight, where the TPB unveiled its banner program, M.I.C.E. Philippines: We Take Your Business to Heart.

In a pre-recorded message, TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles emphasized the Philippines’ strengths: “Our mission is to establish the Philippines as a premier M.I.C.E. destination where global events thrive, supported by our world-renowned Filipino hospitality.”

Attendees were treated to Filipino specialties, including Arroz Caldo, Lumpiang Shanghai, banana chips, polvoron, and dried mangoes, offering a taste of the country’s rich culinary heritage.
