ABS-CBN Artists has achieved another milestone in the music industry last year!
For many Kapamilya artists, 2022 marked a turning point as millions of streams of their upbeat, joyful, and inspirational music were generated.
Angela Ken, a Star Music singer, gained 36 million total streams for her music by the end of 2022, an incredible achievement given that she had only made her debut a year earlier and released her debut album last November with the popular singles “Ako Naman Muna” and “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.”
With the release of her self-titled debut album in January 2022 and the overall achievement of her “Domination” tour in Manila, the Middle East, and the US, rising singer Gigi de Lana earned over 3.9 million Spotify streams. She will now be the star of The Gigi Vibes’ “G Rules” post-Day Valentine’s event at The Theater at Solaire on February 18.
Meanwhile Janine Berdin’s debut EP “WTF I actually composed these songs” gained over 3 million Spotify listens, she also shared wonderful sound with music lovers.
In addition, P-pop sibling groups BGYO and BINI pleased their fans by releasing their own second albums in 2022. The “Be Us” album by BGYO has already received over 3 million Spotify plays.
In the meantime, BINI garnered media attention with the release of their “Feel Good” album in September and the “Feel Good” live album presentation in October at the SM North EDSA Skydome. Several Spotify playlists, including Radar Philippines, EQUAL, P-Pop on the Rise: Best of 2022, and others, included their album.
Numerous singles from Kapamilya artists have received numerous Spotify features, such as “O Luna” by balladeer JMKO, “RBND” by sensual songstress Zachary, and “Best Friends” by DNA Music artist Cool Cat Ash.
With his most recent single “Sinayang Mo,” which had more than 100,000 Spotify plays by year’s end, rising music star and “Lyric and Beat” star Jeremy G also made waves in the latter part of the year.
