The new season of “The Voice Kids” has made weekends more exciting with its pilot episodes, earning over 301,734 combined peak concurrent views and securing the top spot on Twitter’s trending topics for two consecutive nights on February 25 and 26.
During the show, veteran singer Roselle Nava surprised viewers by appearing on stage to support her son Rafa Tan. The mother and son gave an impressive performance of her iconic song “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita,” which was also Rafa’s audition piece.
Rafa, who is from Parañaque, joined Martin’s “MarTeam” along with Patricia Delos Santos (12 y.o.) from Bulacan and Fabio Santos (6 y.o.) from Quezon City.
KZ Tandingan also welcomed Summer Pulido (8 y.o.) from Pangasinan, Renzo Niez (11 y.o.) from Aurora, and Aera Castro (11 y.o.) from Laguna to her “Team Supreme.”
Meanwhile, John Matthew Bendoy (11 y.o.) from Bulacan, Tin-Tin Marty (12 y.o.) from Zambales, and Chloe Cañega (8 y.o.) from Nueva Ecija joined Bamboo’s “Kamp Kawayan.”
Tin-Tin and Patricia impressed the coaches with their blind auditions, earning three-chair turns each with their renditions of “Isa Pang Araw” and “Isang Linggong Pag-ibig,” respectively.
Netizens praised the show and its judges during its first weekend run.
“Makes it even better with the new judges, Martin and KZ, who are both talented and funny, especially Martin. The three judges are a perfect match. And the kids, each has their own story. So touching, it made me cry. We have something to look forward to every Saturday and Sunday night. Kudos, ABS-CBN,” said Marilyn Manicar-Tamayo on Facebook.
