This much-anticipated return to Manila also marks the launch of the “Big Bad Tour: Mission 1 New Million Readers” campaign, which will bring the renowned book sale to six cities across the country. The tour kicks off at Parqal, Aseana City from May 24 to June 2, 2024.
The book sale features a collection of over two million budget-friendly books across various genres, including children’s literature, educational reads, and Filipino titles. To make books more accessible and encourage more Filipinos to develop a love for reading, the sale promises exclusive deals and discounts. Metrobank credit cardholders can also enjoy a 0% 3-month installment for a single-receipt purchase of at least P3,000.

Guests gathered to celebrate the official launch of the “Big Bad Tour: 1 New Million Readers” campaign. During the event, Andrew Yap and Carol Chuaying ceremoniously handed over books donated through the Red Readerhood Program to the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary of Legislative Affairs, Fatima Aliah Dimaporo.
The event was also graced by representatives of Big Bad Wolf Books’ partner organizations, including Emily Koa, Metrobank Credit Card General Usage Head; Francis Anne “Faye” Alonzo Babar, 2GO Business Unit Head for 2GO Forwarding; Patrick Marcelo, IKEA Marketing and PR Manager; Jasmin Cruz, IKEA Philippines Country Inspiration and Communication Manager; and Delfin Angelo Wenceslao, Aseana City Chief Executive Officer.
Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines, Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, praised the initiative, stating it will have a lasting impact on countless lives. “Education is a cornerstone of progress, and promoting literacy is a vital step towards a brighter future for the Philippines,” he said.
