The diverse cast headed by its main stars Lovi Poe and Joem Bascon plus the director Mac Alejandre did not disappoint fans and guests at the Red Carpet Premiere of Regal Entertainment’s irresistible drama The Annulment!
It was like stirring the audience to its erotic scenes and the revealing courtroom scenes; the movie prefers not to be only a dreamy concoction for couples and spouses to anchor on in married life.
Both Bascon and Poe described their characters Sherwin and Gari… and the storyline to be “very experimental” and adding “we embodied our characters because we want to show viewers that these are two people who tell us that there is work needed in marriage,” says Lovi. Then Joem adds “oo kung important and part ng marriage ang sex, passion at saka happiness na meron sa pagpapa kasal, of course, hindi natin puwede bale walain iyung pag babalanse ng husband and wife sa isa’t-isa eh. Kaya when we watch the movie, hindi linear ang takbo ng story”. That’s because scenes are treated and placed and arranged “dis-arrangingly” in order to….as director Alejandre says…..”to show the perspectives of a marriage in a stage by stage period na pagaasama ni Sherwin at ni Gari. Ano sila nung simula, naging ano na sila years after, what were they doing for each other, how did they reach this point to finally decide something for each other’s peace and happines”.
This only means that in the end, may the relationship be a marriage, live-in couples, or mere lovers, when the good and the bad needed to end, The Annulment will tell from over 180 theaters nationwide that “the memories that will stay with you are what you will cherish and then learn from”.
This Graded B cinematic gem is a regal treat that shows and inspires us to always think and feel that after the end of it all, Alejandre says “love is always good”.
