Thai duo Purplecat collaborates with Filipino siblings duo Ysanygo on “Sunny When I’m With You,” a fresh single that celebrates the enchantment of love.
This smooth R&B track merges the distinct styles of both groups, offering listeners an immersive experience where each moment feels brighter, each day sunnier.
With its captivating mellow tones, lighthearted arrangements, and lo-fi beats, “Sunny When I’m With You” captures the essence of being swept away by romance. It’s a musical journey that reflects the joy of sharing life’s everyday moments with someone who brings warmth and sunshine into your world.
“This is a love song written from a place of honesty and confidence,” Purplecat shares in a joint statement. “It captures the exhilaration of falling for someone at first sight and savoring the thrill of being with the person you’re longing for.”
Ysanygo, on their part, conceived the chorus melody and crafted the song for Purplecat. In return, Purplecat penned the lyrics, detailing scenarios of romantic outings with their beloved.
“We’re truly grateful to Ysanygo for their open-mindedness throughout the entire process. We admire their work so much that we didn’t want to alter anything, except for a few parts,” the eclectic duo adds.
“Sunny When I’m With You” marks Purplecat’s debut international collaboration, signaling their ambition to expand their audience on a global scale, particularly in Southeast Asia where there’s a growing demand for their music. The R&B duo consists of Mon Napasin Chaisri on vocals, delivering soulful performances with a hint of melancholy, and Palm Pholrutt Sirirutt, who infuses the mix with cool synthesizer sounds and rap verses.
Ysanygo, a genre-fluid sibling duo from the Philippines, comprises Ysabel and Yñigo Ferraz. This alt-pop duo is part of Spotify RADAR, an annual program dedicated to showcasing emerging talent on the global music stage.
