Tastemakers, a collaborative event between Mercato Centrale and Make it Makati, will be launched on March 11-12, 2023, along Paseo De Roxas St. at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City. This new venture marks a full circle moment for Mercato Centrale, the famous weekend night market that was a pioneer in the local food scene and introduced the “trend” of food parks in the Philippines.
Tastemakers will feature a unique lineup of food merchants, offering a test kitchen experience for some of the Philippines’ best chefs, including Chef JP Anglo, Chef Margarita, Erwan Huessaff, Chef Sau, Chef Chele, and Chef Robby Goco. The Makati Street Meet event will be held every month, on the Saturday and Sunday of every 1st Payday weekend, with Tastemakers closing Paseo De Roxas St. to traffic from 4PM to 12AM.
Visitors can enjoy free admission to the event, which is a short drive away from Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue. The event will showcase various vendor partners, ranging from frozen cheesecakes, gourmet ulam, artisan coffee and sandwiches, to New York-style bagels, such as Crave it!, Mang Cesars Angus Belly, Booya Bagels, Luna’s Corner, Moloko Cookies, Destileria Limtuaco & Co, Inc., Deli by Chele, WKND Coffee, Wadough’s, Muy Mexicantina, and Karabella.
Mercato Centrale’s Midnight food fair was first launched in 2011 at the BGC Tent, featuring several local startups and food businesses in one place. With the launch of Tastemakers, Mercato Centrale aims to continue its legacy of promoting innovative and trendsetting food concepts in the Philippines.
