The new collaboration between Thai R&B group Purplecat and Philippine alternative sibling group Ysanygo, “Sunny When I’m With You,” takes listeners to a world where every day is a little brighter and sunnier. It’s a smooth R&B song that honors the wonder of love.
The DWKT musicians stated that the song captures the romantic elements of falling in love at first sight and wondering what may have happened if you had spent more time with the person you’re crushing on.
“This is a love song written from a place of honesty and confidence,” said the duo in a statement.
“Sunny When I’m With You,” produced by Ysanygo and written by Purplecat, explores the numerous scenarios of going on a date while oozing the beauty of being romantically swept away by someone whose companionship brings light and sunshine into your daily routine.
“We’re really grateful to Ysanygo for being open-minded throughout the entire process. We love their work so much that we don’t want to change anything, except for a few parts,” said Purplecat.
Purplecat and his partner intend to take their music outside of Thailand, especially in Southeast Asia, where there is a market for it. This is the song that represents their first international cooperation.
Mon Napasin Chaisri, who contributes deep, melancholic vocals, and Palm Pholrutt Sirirutt, who adds hip-hop rhymes and funky synthesizer noises to the mix, make up the R&B pair.
Ysanygo and Purplecat’s song “Sunny When I’m With You” is currently available on all digital music outlets across the globe.
