Sun Life Recruits Gen Z and Millennials as Financial Advisors

In Manila, PH, as of February 7, 2024, the modern workforce is embracing the gig economy, reshaping traditional employment. Millennials and Gen Z, driven by flexibility and autonomy, increasingly pursue gig opportunities and side hustles.

This was the insight that inspired Sun Life Philippines’ recently launched campaign, “The Next Big Gig”. The campaign aims to invite today’s generation to venture into becoming a financial advisor as their next side hustle.

Sun Life’s “The Next Big Gig” officially debuted during an energetic media event hosted at Makati Shangri-La on February 7, 2024.

At the event, Sun Life Financial Advisors shared their own personal stories to enlighten the audience about how this gig gives them income opportunities, the freedom of time, and a sense of fulfillment in helping their clients start their journey towards financial security.

Diverse Perspectives Highlight the Rewards of Financial Advisor Role

In addition, Sun Life’s latest digital video, unveiled during the event, further illustrates these themes. The video showcases diverse individuals, including a school teacher, an online seller, a corporate employee, and an entrepreneur, all of whom serve as financial advisors.

It highlights the benefits enjoyed by financial advisors, such as earnings, travel incentives, advocacy discovery, and the gratifying experience of being a lifelong partner to clients.

Interactive Pods offer Insight into Financial Advisor Role and Rewards

Moreover, The event featured three activity stations simulating the financial advisor experience. Attendees engaged with these stations, with chances to win Sun Life merchandise, deepening their understanding of the role.

The “Next Big Quiz” pod was a quiz booth with questions on life insurance to challenge the attendees’ knowledge on the subject matter. The second pod, titled “Next Big Destination,” featured an international-themed photo wall. This represented the travel incentives of Sun Life advisors.

Lastly, the “Next Big Project” showcased advisors’ CSR activities, including a voting apparatus for future projects.

“The gig economy is booming, and we recognize that today’s generation craves flexibility and purpose in their careers. Our campaign, ‘The Next Big Gig’, aims to showcase the incredible opportunity for individuals to build a fulfilling career and advocacy as a Sun Life Financial Advisor.

“This gig offers income, rewards, and purpose,” stated Al Quitangon, Chief Distribution Officer of Sun Life Philippines.
