As a way of encouraging Filipinos to get into active lifestyle and in observance of the World Diabetes day, Sun Life Financial Philippines staged Sun Life Cycle PH on the 18th of November at BGC.
In the past, Sun Life Financial-Philippines and Sunrise Events held Ironman and Go Well community classes. It was a successful fundraising effort named #SunpiologyDUO as it attracted more than 1,300 cyclists which includes Star Magic celebrities led by Piolo Pascual, a Sun Life ambassador.
Sun Life Cycle PH is categorized into 40km, 500m, 100m, and Family Ride where both cycling newbies & enthusiasts participated. The highlight of the event is Bid2Bike Special Charity Ride where lucky bidders got to bike ride with Star Magic talents & Robbie McEwen, a Tour de France three time winner. Piolo and his son Inigo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Matteo Guidicelli, Kisses Delavin, and Gretchen Ho, wowed their followers with a great workout after a hearty breakfast. 
“Sharing the joys and adrenaline of biking with my son Inigo and my fans was the highlight of my Sun Life Cycle PH experience. This is another milestone for my Sun Life family, and it is an honor that I’m part of their advocacy to prevent diabetes and promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Piolo, who is also a part of the Sun Life Tri-Team for the cycling leg of Ironman 70.3.
One of the beneficiaries of Bid2Bike is Hebreo Foundation, a charity chosen by Star Magic. The charity ride will continue on the 20th of January in #SunpiologyDUO: the Sun Life Resolution Run which will be held at Camp Aguinaldo where interested parties may register at www.sunpiology.com.
The Resolution Run will be as star studded with Star Magic celebrities as the previous runs. It will also raise funds for Hebreo Foundation scholars, Star magic scholars, Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation Inc. (ISDF), and Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philipines. Diabetes awareness and prevention will still be a focus. Also during the course, 4 obstacle stations are posted with the goal of educating about this dreaded disease.
“After biking, I want to invite everyone to literally run away with their new year’s resolutions with the Sun Life Resolution Run. It will also be my birthday run, as it will happen a few days after. So I hope you’ll celebrate with me by running for a good cause,” said Piolo, who marked two decades in show business this year.
