Submission Deadline Approaches Entries Flood in Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival

Puregold’s CinePanalo Film Festival is experiencing a surge in participation from aspiring Filipino filmmakers eager to make their mark in the industry.

With the deadline for entries closing on October 27, numerous young filmmakers are racing to submit their entries and showcase their ability to inspire through film. Puregold has already received a substantial number of entries and anticipates more as the deadline approaches.

With an influx of entries coming in, Puregold is excited to select the very best of young Filipino filmmaking talent.

Each submission to the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival must embody wholesomeness, inspiration, and family orientation, revolving around the theme “Mga Kwentong Panalo ng Buhay” (Winning Life Stories). This theme reflects Puregold’s commitment to highlighting and celebrating the small victories in everyday Filipino life.

The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival is currently accepting entries for both short and full-length films, open to students, campus filmmakers, and amateur and professional filmmakers. Selected individuals will receive financial grants to bring their creative visions to life. Five amateur or professional directors will each be awarded a P2,500,000 grant in the full-length category, while 25 campus-based directors will each receive a P100,000 grant for the short film category. Additionally, selected full-length entries will receive free color grading services from the festival’s official color grading partner, Optima Digital.

Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Puregold’s Senior Manager for Marketing, states, “Puregold aims to ignite the passion for creativity in the Filipino youth. Witnessing these enthusiastic young filmmakers submitting their entries and pursuing their dreams is a winning story in itself. We are excited to review and evaluate all the entries as we bring the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival to life.”

Ms. Ivy Piedad affirms that through the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, Puregold demonstrates its commitment to telling the panalo stories of Filipinos.

Interested filmmakers have until October 27 to submit their story concepts. Participants in both categories must include a completed entry form, a synopsis of no more than 300 words, a detailed sequence treatment, a director’s resume with links to sample works (if available), and a digital copy of the director’s profile photo. All these documents should be emailed to thesecretariat@cinepanalo.com to receive the necessary materials for applying for the grant.

Once selected, participants in the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival must submit their fully produced films by March 1, 2024. In the short film category, entries must have a minimum runtime of 20 minutes and a maximum runtime of 30 minutes. Feature film submissions must be at least 90 minutes long. Each entry will be screened during the Festival, scheduled to take place from March 8-10, 2024, at the Gateway Cinemas in Cubao, Quezon City.

Short film entries will also enjoy the privilege of reaching Puregold’s extensive social media audience, as each entry will be uploaded to the Puregold Channel on YouTube. This channel hosts Puregold’s successful digital series, including “GV Boys,” “Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask,” “52 Weeks,” and “Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile.”
