This “Chinese Lantern Heads” photo is one of my favorite street photography photos. I took this during my first photowalk with Usapang Kalye (UK) during the 2012 Chinese New Year.
I posted it today to a street photography facebook group called APF Magazine Street Photography Group. The theme was “Faceless” so this was an ideal photo for that day’s theme.
I used the “juxtaposition” or the forced perspective technique to cover the two vendors face with the Chinese Lanterns. I shot around 8 shots until I got this right shot that covers both their faces.
This photo is one of my favorite street photography photos.
UPDATE: This photo was selected and featured in artphotofeature.com (APF) 12 Inspirational Street Photographs with Faceless theme. Thanks APF.
