Who loves Hi-5? A lot of Filipino children do! Hi-5 was one of the best children show that graced Philippine TV. It had entertained and taught a lot of children not only in the Philippines but in a lot of places in the world where it was shown. The music, the dancing and the games made it so much fun for children.
The former star of the Australian pop group Hi-5, Stevie Nicholson returns to Manila, Philippines for the World Premiere of Superdudes. Superdudes, the book, is an introduction to a plethora of characters led by Super Stevie and his talented best friend, illustrator Nick Rudich, a.k.a. Pirate Pencil. The book is very popular because if captures the imagination of children in a playful and engaging way based on the tenet that absolutely anyone and anything can be super.
Now from the book, the Superdudes is now transformed to the stage! Led by Super Stevie, a series of live musical productions is now touring Metro Manila and Iloilo featuring characters inspired by his book. With Super Stevie are Pirate Pencil, Bubble Trouble, and Flutterby.
Based on his experiences from his previous visits to Manila during his Hi-5 days, Stevie has chosen Manila to be the first place for the official inauguration of the world tour of his funny and quirky children’s book. He admits his Filipino fans hold a special place in his heart.
“The Philippines has the best fans in the world,” exclaims Stevie. “I just love coming here and the reception has always been tremendous. I have a really lovely relationship with the Filipino people so there is no other place in the world I could think of to launch Superdudes than right here.”
