President Rodrigo Duterte – has obtained the excuse of aired giant ABS-CBN for opening a smear ad against him by opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. “Nandiyan na eh I obtain the apologies,” Duterte told correspondents Wednesday at Malacañang. But Duterte said ABS-CBN should just hand out the hovering ₱2. 6-million the organization owes him for its failure to reveal his political commercials during the 2016 election.
Even with admitting the redress, Duterte was ambiguous on the restoration of the TV network’s fate, declining to say whether he will accept or reject a bill moved by Congress granting ABS-CBN an unusual 25-year franchise. That was not the motive of the network.
