The stars and creative teams behind the Citadel universe gathered last night for an exclusive celebration of the upcoming series Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny, set to premiere on Prime Video on October 10 and November 7, respectively.
Executive Producer and Showrunner Gina Gardini, along with Italian lead Matilda De Angelis, who portrays Diana, represented Citadel: Diana. Meanwhile, the directors and writers of Citadel: Honey Bunny, Raj & DK, writer Sita R. Menon, and lead actress Samantha, were in attendance for the Indian series.
The evening also featured Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who plays Nadia in the second season of Citadel, currently in production in the UK. Executive producers across all Citadel series, including Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and David Weil, were also present.
Earlier in the night, a special on-stage discussion took place at Curzon Bloomsbury, where Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, David Weil, Gina Gardini, Raj & DK, and Sita R. Menon shared insights into the creative process behind each series and how they interconnect within the broader Citadel universe. The creatives highlighted their collaborative efforts to expand the narrative through local-language stories featuring prominent stars, creating a truly global collection.
Attendees also included James Farrell, VP of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, Davide Nardini, Head of Scripted Italian Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, Nikhil Madhok, Head of India Originals at Prime Video, and Chris Bird, Director of Prime Video UK.
Citadel: Diana Synopsis
Set in Milan in 2030, the series follows Diana Cavalieri (Matilda De Angelis), an undercover agent for the now-defunct global spy agency Citadel, which was destroyed by the powerful syndicate Manticore eight years earlier. Trapped behind enemy lines, Diana faces a crucial choice for escape, placing her trust in an unexpected ally, Edo Zani (Lorenzo Cervasio), the heir to Manticore Italy and son of the organization’s head, Ettore Zani (Maurizio Lombardi), who is vying for leadership against rival European families.
Citadel: Honey Bunny Synopsis
In this series, stuntman Bunny recruits struggling actress Honey for a side gig, plunging them into a perilous world of action, espionage, and betrayal. Years later, as their tumultuous past resurfaces, the estranged duo must reunite to protect their young daughter, Nadia, from the dangers that threaten their family.
