Star Cinema Celebrates P400 Million Milestone for “And The Breadwinner Is…”

Star Cinema extends its heartfelt gratitude to Filipino moviegoers for the incredible support of “And The Breadwinner Is…”, which has grossed an impressive P400 million in cinemas nationwide as of January 14.

The drama-comedy film, starring Vice Ganda and an official entry to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), continues its successful run in theaters, now on its fourth week.

Audiences worldwide will soon enjoy the film as it premieres in Malta, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada, Saipan, Guam, and Cambodia in the coming days.

A Heartwarming Story of Sacrifice and Family

“And The Breadwinner Is…” tells the story of Bambi (Vice Ganda), an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) breadwinner who fakes her own death to provide for her family. The film captures the sacrifices breadwinners make and the challenges families face to build better lives for one another. Directed by Jun Robles Lana, known for his acclaimed comedy films, this is the first collaboration between Vice and the award-winning filmmaker.

Recognized at the 50th MMFF

At the 50th MMFF Gabi ng Parangal on December 27, the film received the Gender Sensitivity Award, while Vice Ganda was honored with the Special Jury Citation for her groundbreaking performance, showcasing her versatility and growth as an artist.
