This unique event served as a platform for Gen Z filmmakers to showcase their artistic talents while shedding light on critical social issues through their distinctive perspectives.
Politics and global warming emerged as central themes, creatively explored in the participants’ entries. The winning film, “Ang Panawagan ni Googly,” brilliantly tackled climate change by telling the story from the perspective of a used plastic container named Googly, offering an imaginative and thought-provoking take on environmental concerns.
Other standout entries addressed timely topics such as politics, coinciding with the upcoming elections, alongside pressing issues like mental health and other societal challenges.
The competition’s panel of esteemed judges from the film industry, joined by Mr. Lorenzo Chan, President of Pioneer Insurance Group, recognized the outstanding potential of the next generation of filmmakers.
