During this Earth Hour, SM Supermalls once again demonstrated its ongoing dedication to sustainable practices by endorsing the annual Global Lights Switch Off on March 23rd from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
This year, SM extended its efforts beyond the lights switch-off, fostering public engagement through a diverse array of eco-friendly and energy-saving activities and events.
In the current year, 85 SM malls actively engaged in Earth Hour activities. Through these initiatives, SM Supermalls and SM Cares encouraged customers to extend their commitment beyond Earth Hour, offering practical tips for resource conservation and sustainable practices. They underscored the significant impact a collective movement toward energy conservation and climate change awareness can have.
SM Cares serves as the corporate social responsibility division of SM Supermalls, spearheading initiatives that champion sustainability and community development. These encompass programs catering to Women and Breastfeeding Mothers, Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Children and Youth, alongside the Bike-Friendly SM initiative, complemented by its Environment Programs.
