SM Foundation turns over donated mattresses and other necessities such as pillows and linens at University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) for the COVID-19 isolation wards and facilities, in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Due to a lack of medical facilities for COVID-19 patients, UP and ADMU converted some of their dormitories and classrooms into isolation wards.
SM and the PRC also collaborate on drive-through facilities for its saliva RT-PCR testing centers, resulting in over 20,000 people being tested for COVID-19 cross the country to date.
“With the surge of COVID-19 cases, we are one with PRC, ADMU and UP in their efforts to keep the community safe through the opening of these isolation wards. Our collaborative efforts with the Philippine Red Cross are needed now more than ever as we continue the fight against COVID-19,” said SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.
Multi-mall COVID-19 vaccination program was also launched by SM in collaboration with various LGUs in order to provide a safe and spacious vaccination venues and assist in containing the virus’s spread.
