On June 2, 2023, a touching exhibition was revealed at SM City Clark, showcasing the remarkable moments from the Pocketful of Sunshine fly-by event. In collaboration with SM Cares, SM City Clark, Angeles City Flying Club (ACFC), and Kythe Foundation, this exhibit pays tribute to the resilient spirit of courageous children with disabilities.
The Pocketful of Sunshine exhibit presents a curated collection of photographs captured during the extraordinary fly-by event held on March 19, 2023. Thirty-one children were given the extraordinary opportunity to embark on a breathtaking adventure in ultralight aircraft. Volunteer photography groups, including Fotoklase, Focus Bulacan, Fujifilm Photographers, and UP Aviation Society, have beautifully depicted the joy, bravery, and awe experienced by the children during their airborne journey.
To commemorate the unveiling of this heartfelt exhibition, a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony took place, graced by the presence of esteemed individuals. Engr. Bien C. Mateo, the SVP for SM Supermalls and Director of the SM Cares Program on Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Angie Sievert-Fernandez, the Executive Director of Kythe Foundation, Mr. Tonet Rivera, the President of Angeles City Flying Club, and Vice Mayor Vicky Vega of Angeles City all gathered, symbolizing the opening of a world brimming with limitless dreams and possibilities for children grappling with cancer and chronic illnesses.
“We take immense pride in showcasing the incredible moments captured during the Pocketful of Sunshine fly-by event,” expressed Engr. Mateo. “This exhibition serves as a testament to the unwavering resilience and bravery of these exceptional children. It is our sincere hope that their stories of courage will ignite inspiration within others, encouraging them to believe in the transformative power of dreams and work towards creating an inclusive environment for all.”
Prepare to be uplifted and deeply moved at the upcoming Pocketful of Sunshine exhibit, which pays tribute to the unwavering strength of these young warriors. Through the compassionate lens of talented photographers, their extraordinary journey has been immortalized, reminding us of the profound impact collective support and accessible experiences can have on children facing health challenges.
The exhibit will be open to mall-goers until June 8, 2023, located at The Event Centre near the Food Court of SM City Clark.
