Directed and co-written by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on “Rogue One” and “Godzilla,” “The Creator” unfolds within a future ravaged by war between humanity and artificial intelligence. Joshua (John David Washington), a battle-hardened ex-special forces agent mourning the disappearance of his wife (Gemma Chan), is recruited for a perilous mission—to track down and eliminate the Creator, the enigmatic mastermind behind advanced AI. The Creator has developed a mysterious weapon capable of ending not only the war but all of humanity. Joshua, accompanied by his elite team, embarks on a journey deep into enemy territory, only to uncover that the world-altering weapon he’s been tasked to destroy is an AI entity taking the form of a young child (Madeleine Yuma Voyles).
“The Creator” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Allison Janney. The screenplay is co-authored by Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz, based on a story by Edwards.
