The sonically captivating track marks another collaboration with his real-life brother Josue of Radkidz, who also co-produced viral hits “Determinado” and “Gento”
Following the successful revival of the rap-rock genre with “Determinado” a few weeks ago, SB19’s PABLO continues to surpass expectations with another impressive release that ventures into uncharted musical territory.
On “AKALA,” the P-Pop sensation delivers a powerful track that seamlessly merges hip-hop influences with trap beats and atmospheric production. PABLO surprises listeners at every turn with a sonically captivating and heartfelt song, showcasing a new level of creative inspiration in both songwriting and production.
This track also marks another collaboration with his brother Josue of Radkidz, who previously co-produced “Determinado” and SB19’s viral hit “Gento.” PABLO, on the other hand, took charge of structural developments and dynamics, contributing significantly to the lyrics. He shares, “I added some singing parts and a hook and gave the song a resolution in terms of musical arrangement. We wanted it to be a song that’s easy to listen to and sing along to, just like how it is when friends gather and sing together.”
According to PABLO, “AKALA” was conceived during the pandemic when Josue introduced him to a beat with a partially written verse about finding solace in alcohol. Despite differing views on alcohol consumption, the SB19 leader found the concept intriguing and revisited the track to enhance certain aspects.
“While we have different views on drinking practices, we agree on the idea that alcohol is not the answer to problems,” explains the multi-talented artist. “I wanted the song to be more than just about getting wasted, so I rearranged the letters of ‘alak’ to introduce my perspective, and that’s how ‘Akala’ came to be. My mother also contributed a line to the song, adding more depth and meaning.”
Summing up his latest creation, PABLO, the breakout artist behind La Luna, remarks, “Everything I’ve released so far features intense and heavy instrumentation, but ‘Akala’ takes a completely different direction this time around. It has a more laid-back, dreamy vibe.”
PABLO’s “AKALA” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
