Certification illustrates Samsung Knox’s commitment to high security integrity and efficiency
for tenth consecutive year
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the attainment of Common Criteria (CC) certification for Samsung Knox, its trusted security solution integrated into its 2024 TVs. This certification, achieved prior to product launch, underscores Samsung’s commitment to security and privacy.
Common Criteria (CC) certification is a globally recognized benchmark endorsed by 31 countries worldwide, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, and the United States. It evaluates the security integrity of IT products, ensuring they meet stringent standards. Samsung Knox has now secured CC certification for 10 consecutive years, affirming its status as a top-tier security solution for Samsung TVs.
Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the importance of privacy and security in today’s interconnected world. He expressed pride in Samsung’s achievement, highlighting the continuous improvement of Samsung Knox’s security measures and standards.
The CC aims to enhance confidence in the security of certified IT products by establishing consistent and rigorous evaluation standards. Through a Protection Profile (PP) and a Security Target (ST), products like Samsung Knox undergo thorough evaluation to ensure they meet CC standards.
Samsung Knox’s successful fulfillment of the Security Target and adherence to CC standards demonstrate its global security excellence, providing consumers with peace of mind as they embrace the latest technology innovations in Samsung TVs.
The CC certification underscores three core security features of Samsung Knox:
●Tizen OS Monitoring: Samsung Knox actively detects potential hacking threats in real-time, flagging any unauthorized changes in critical sectors of Tizen OS, the core of Samsung TVs.
●Phishing Website Blocking: Samsung Knox verifies web pages accessed by users, preemptively blocking any phishing sites to safeguard user data and privacy.
