Sam “SV” Verzosa: Driving Positive Change Through Service and Leadership

SV Verzosa proves that true success comes from lifting others, as he uses his business acumen with a heart for public service to create lasting change.

Sam “SV” Verzosa has always believed that true leadership is rooted in service—a principle that has defined his journey as a businessman, philanthropist, and partylist representative. By combining sharp business acumen with a deep passion for public service, SV has forged a path where success is not only measured by profit, but by the lives he impacts and the communities he uplifts.

This commitment to service is evident in Dear SV, a public service TV program that premiered in 2023 on CNN Philippines and is now in its second season on GMA Network. The show shares the struggles and triumphs of everyday people, offering them opportunities such as sustainable livelihoods, scholarships, and financial assistance. For SV, Dear SV is more than just a show—it’s a platform for real, lasting change and a tribute to his late father, whose teachings of perseverance and humility continue to inspire him. “Dear SV is my way of giving back and honoring my father, who always believed in helping others. He challenged me and my siblings to pursue our goals, but he also reminded us to lift others as we rise,” he shared.

Beyond his own program, SV has also joined the highly anticipated Wil to Win, co-hosted by Willie Revillame. Through this platform, he reaches even more Filipinos, offering them opportunities to improve their lives through entertainment and prizes. SV expressed his excitement about the show, highlighting how it aligns with his mission to uplift those in need.

Off-screen, SV continues to make a significant impact through public service in his hometown of Sampaloc. In June, during his Araw ng Kalayaan initiative, he led a series of outreach programs as part of his work with the Tutok To Win Partylist. He donated 17 multi-purpose “Serbisyo Vans” to various zones in Sampaloc, designed to support emergency response efforts and civic services.

In addition, SV introduced the SV Mobile Clinics, equipped with advanced medical technology such as X-ray machines and ultrasound equipment. These mobile clinics are a testament to his proactive approach to addressing healthcare needs in his district. During the launch, SV personally guided guests through the facilities, emphasizing how these clinics will bring much-needed healthcare services directly to the communities.

SV’s dedication to the marginalized was further demonstrated when he distributed wheelchairs to senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Reflecting on his humble beginnings, he said, “Growing up, I understood the struggles of those with limited means. True success isn’t just about financial gain—it’s about being able to give back and uplift others.”

When Typhoon Carina struck with devastating force, SV quickly mobilized relief efforts in Delpan and Baseco Compound, Manila. He organized medical missions, providing free checkups, maintenance medicines, and more through his mobile clinics. SV also distributed “love packs” containing essentials such as Spam, Delimondo, rice, and coffee to affected residents. His swift response underscores his deep commitment to serving his fellow Manileños, especially as he looks ahead to the upcoming mayoral race.

As a public servant, SV’s leadership is strengthened by his own personal struggles and triumphs. In Congress, he has championed initiatives focused on education and poverty reduction, including House Bill 4827, which seeks to establish E-Skwela Hubs to support digital learning for underprivileged students. He also authored House Bill 4829, the Online Philippine Pharmacy Act, aimed at regulating online pharmacies to protect public health. Additionally, his proposed Poor Job Applicants Discount Act aims to provide financial relief to job seekers by offering discounts on government-required certifications.

SV’s ability to blend his entrepreneurial skills with his public service mission has shaped his leadership style. As president of Maserati Philippines and CEO of Frontrow, a direct-selling company in the wellness industry, he leverages his business expertise to fuel sustainable community development programs. His ventures offer resources and opportunities—from livelihood programs to scholarships—helping urban poor communities thrive.
