The devastation caused by Typhoon Carina has left many families in dire need of assistance. In response, SAFC collaborated with volunteers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Air Force, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Marine Corps to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the leadership of Director Leo Quintilla and Supervising Admin Officer Ronald Reonal in the relief repacking effort.

Held at the DSWD Central Warehouse, the initiative was spearheaded by SAFC’s Chief Compliance Officer, Roseshel M. Barrun, whose coordination ensured an efficient and effective repacking process. “Our team’s dedication and the generous support from our partners exemplify the spirit of bayanihan. Together, we are more capable of making a significant impact,” Barrun stated.

Robel G. de Jesus, Corporate Communications Group Head, reinforced SAFC’s commitment to community support and disaster relief: “At SAFC, our responsibility extends beyond financial services. We are committed to making a meaningful difference, especially in times of crisis. The SAFC HEROES initiative, particularly the Love Hero’s BAYAN-I Outreach, demonstrates our promise to support our communities. Our employees and partners from DSWD, the Armed Forces, and emergency services are the true heroes, dedicating their time and effort to provide hope and relief to those affected by Typhoon Carina. This initiative is about more than immediate aid; it’s about coming together as a unified community.”

The collaborative repacking event involved volunteers carefully sorting and packing essential items, which are now being distributed to evacuation centers in the most severely impacted areas, providing critical support to the evacuees.

As the nation recovers from Typhoon Carina’s impact, SAFC HEROES remains committed to delivering aid and strengthening resilience in affected communities. This initiative is part of SAFC’s broader CSR efforts aimed at creating a lasting, positive impact on society.

SAFC extends heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, partners, and supporters who made this initiative possible. Together, we exemplify the spirit of bayanihan, proving that through unity and compassion, we can overcome any challenge.
