In a powerful display of unity and compassion, SAFC has reaffirmed its dedication to helping those in need. Through its corporate social responsibility arm, SAFC HEROES, and the Community Development sub-program Love Hero’s BAYAN-I (Ako, Para sa Bayan) Outreach, SAFC employees, along with esteemed partners, have repacked relief goods for 2,125 evacuees affected by Typhoon Carina.

The typhoon’s devastating impact across the Philippines has left many families displaced and in urgent need of assistance. In response, SAFC collaborated with volunteers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Air Force, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Marine Corps to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by Director Leo Quintilla and Supervising Admin Officer Ronald Reonal, in their relief repacking efforts.

The event, held at the DSWD Central Warehouse, was spearheaded by SAFC’s Chief Compliance Officer, Roseshel M. Barrun, whose coordination ensured the efficient repacking of essential goods. Barrun remarked, “Our team’s commitment and the tremendous support from our partners highlight the spirit of bayanihan. Together, we are stronger and more capable of making a meaningful impact.”

Robel G. de Jesus, Corporate Communications Group Head, further emphasized SAFC’s commitment to community support and disaster relief: “At SAFC, our responsibility extends beyond financial services. We are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of those we serve, especially during crises. The SAFC HEROES initiative, particularly the Love Hero’s BAYAN-I Outreach, reflects our promise to stand by our communities. Our volunteers, alongside partners from DSWD and various emergency services, embody true heroism by dedicating their time and effort to bring hope and relief to Typhoon Carina’s victims. This effort is not just about immediate aid; it’s about standing together as one community, united in support and resilience.”

During the repacking activity, volunteers worked diligently to sort and pack essential items, which are now being distributed to evacuation centers in the most affected areas, providing crucial support to those in need.

As the nation recovers from Typhoon Carina, SAFC HEROES remains committed to delivering aid and fostering resilience in the affected communities. This initiative is part of SAFC’s broader CSR programs, aimed at creating a lasting positive impact on society.

SAFC extends its heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, partners, and supporters who made this initiative possible. Together, let us exemplify the spirit of bayanihan, showing that through unity and compassion, we can overcome any challenge.
