SAFC, a prominent and rapidly growing finance company in the Philippines, joined forces with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) once more, supported by the Pasig LGU, to organize their second bloodletting event on June 13, 2023. The event, held at the SAFC Head Office in Ortigas Center, Pasig, commemorated World Blood Donor Day and carried the theme “Be a Blood Donor, #BeaLIFEHERO.” The community responded overwhelmingly, further solidifying SAFC’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Building upon the tremendous success of their initial bloodletting exercise in February, SAFC demonstrated unwavering dedication to their Life Hero program under SAFC HEROES, their esteemed CSR arm. By nurturing a culture of compassion and generosity, SAFC aims to inspire collective benevolence, encouraging others to actively contribute to the noble cause of building a brighter future for society.
Dr. Adelle Florendo, Medical Officer at PRC, expressed heartfelt gratitude to SAFC for their ongoing cooperation, acknowledging the vital role of blood donation in the healthcare system. Dr. Florendo emphasized, “The healthcare system heavily relies on blood donations. Each blood bag has the potential to save three to four lives. Without an adequate blood supply, meeting the needs of patients in hospitals and clinics would be a significant challenge.”
The impact of the previous two bloodletting initiatives cannot be overstated, as an astounding 340 lives have been preserved thus far. This remarkable milestone stands as a powerful testament to SAFC’s enduring commitment to making a difference in countless individuals’ lives. In line with their unwavering pledge, SAFC will continue to organize regular blood donation drives every three months, ensuring sustainable and ample blood supply at PRC’s blood centers. Through these ongoing efforts, SAFC sets an admirable example, inspiring others to contribute and fostering a culture of giving for the betterment of society.
