The original property’s signature golden spire returns, bringing a familiar sight to the city skyline.
Dusit Thani Public Company Limited (DUSIT), a prominent hotel and property development firm in Thailand, has reached a significant milestone in reviving its renowned flagship establishment – Dusit Thani Bangkok. The newly constructed structure, situated on the same prime location as the original property that graced Bangkok’s skyline from 1970 to 2019, has been officially topped off.

Scheduled to open in the second half of 2024 as part of Dusit Central Park, a landmark USD 1.37 billion mixed-use development facing Lumpini Park, the reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok is a pivotal project for the company. Alongside the hotel, this expansive project encompasses ultra-luxury residences (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside), a cutting-edge office tower, a high-end retail center, and an 11,200 sq m Roof Park, set to unveil gradually between 2025 and 2026.
The new 39-storey Dusit Thani Bangkok, comprising 257 guestrooms, a substantial ballroom, and an array of contemporary dining, wellness, and meeting facilities, represents a modern transformation of the original hotel. It aims to elevate Dusit’s global reputation while honoring its heritage through a modern perspective.

In a nod to its past, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok integrates signature elements from its predecessor, including the original property’s distinctive golden spire. This iconic piece was reinstated during the topping-off ceremony, becoming a symbol of luxury once again. The original spire will be housed within a larger golden spire, with a dedicated mini exhibition space underneath serving as a permanent museum. This museum will celebrate the original hotel’s legacy through interactive exhibits, panoramic views of Lumpini Park, and ample photo opportunities against the backdrop of the historic spire.
