Filipinos are real romantics. You could say we are suckers for great love stories and spine-tingling declarations of love, especially in movies. With not much forms of love and dating this quarantine season, we can get our dose of “kilig” and “hugot” from the country’s most popular love teams over the years by watching some (if not all) of their films found in iWant’s collection of more than 1,000 free movies.
1. KATHNIEL’S ENDURING MAGIC
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have been sweeping us off four feet since 2013. It’s hard not to root for these two especially since their onscreen pair-up blossomed into a real-life relationship. From KathNiel’s cute, ‘bungisngis’ looks in “Must Be Love” to their blockbuster hit about facing the realities of adulthood in “The Hows of Us,” it is truly amazing to watch the King and Queen of Hearts grow up together right in front of our eyes.
Watch: “Must Be Love,” “She’s Dating the Gangster,” “Crazy Beautiful You,” “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” “The Hows Of Us”
2. ASHLLOYD’s COMICAL OFFICE ROMANCE
In the Cathy Garcia-Molina trilogy that captured our hearts, Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz play Laida and Miggy—assistant and boss who learn how to depend on each other despite their differences. Through power hugs and building ‘trust,’ the two found themselves back with each other even after a painful breakup. Fans also rejoiced when their 2017 movie “Finally Found Someone” was released.
Watch: “A Very Special Love,” “You Changed My Life,” “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” “Finally Found Someone”
3. LIZQUEN FOLLOWS SECOND CHANCES
Two of Liza Soberano and Enriquel Gil’s blockbuster hits – “Alone/Together” and“My Ex and Whys” – revolve around exes who confront their what if’s and why’s years after their breakup. By showing us how relationships are built and solidified, and ultimately, how they fail, we can decide for ourselves if sometimes, love truly deserves a second chance.
Watch: “She’s the One,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Everyday I Love You,” “My Ex and Whys,” “Alone/Together”
4. JADINE’S IRRESISTABLE ROLLERCOASTER RELATIONSHIPS
James Reid and Nadine Lustre have come a long way from their cute bickering and love-hate relationships in teen movies “Diary ng Panget” and “Talk Back and You’re Dead.” In their latest film “Never Not Love You,” they confront the vicious realities of love and offer a mature look at a relationship that is tested by time, distance, and their ambitions.
Watch: “Diary ng Panget,” Talk Back and You’re Dead,” “Para sa Hopeless Romantic,” “Never Not Love You”
5. JOSHLIA IS BOUND BY FATE
Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s characters seem to find in each other in the most serendipitous of situations – as textmates in “Vince & Kath & James,” as strangers turned roadtrip buddies in “Love You to the Stars and Back,” and as the nephew and daughter of two high school batchmates in “Unexpectedly Yours.” Great for hopeless romantics who believe in destiny.
Watch: “Vince & Kath & James,” “Love You to the Stars and Back,” “I Love You Hater,” “Unexpectedly Yours”
