Red Bull Half Court makes its return for another thrilling year, summoning the finest ballers for the ultimate 3-on-3 streetball showdown. This season promises even fiercer competition, as players hailing from Luzon to Mindanao clash in the regional qualifiers held in Manila, Cebu, and Davao, vying for a coveted spot in the world finals set in one of basketball’s most revered arenas and the epicenter of streetball – New York City.
Red Bull Half Court: The Ultimate Playground of Streetball
Adhering to FIBA rules, the games commence with an initial round employing a pool play style, followed by subsequent rounds adopting a knockout format.
Red Bull Half Court epitomizes the spirit of getting buckets and unleashing high-octane offense, with a distinctive Red Bull twist to the game: the Own the Court Score. This accolade is bestowed upon the team in each group that accumulates the highest total points throughout the games. Teams with the top scores progress to contend for a spot in the National Finals.
“Basketball holds significant cultural importance in Filipino society, and we believe this tournament will serve as a platform for young and aspiring ballers to exhibit their skills and passion for the game. We are particularly thrilled to expand this year with our qualifiers in Davao,” expressed Eric Altamirano, Red Bull Half Court Tournament Commissioner.
The tournament welcomes participation from both men and women aged 18 and above. Each participating team must consist of 4 players, with the fourth player serving as a reserve or backup. Registration, qualifying rounds, and other prelude events leading up to the World Finals will kick off on the following dates:
- February 16 – Registration opens for Cebu, Manila, and Davao Qualifiers
- March 9 – Cebu Qualifiers
- April 6 – Davao Qualifiers
- April 13 – Manila Qualifiers
- April 27 – National Finals Tournament
- October – World Finals (New York City)
The climax of the National Finals is scheduled for April 27, with the victorious teams earning the honor of representing the Philippines at the World Finals in New York City in October 2024.
