On March 1, 2024, at the Joy~Nostalg Hotel in Ortigas, Rebisco took its support for professional volleyball to the next level by launching its 3rd volleyball team, the Criss Cross King Crunchers. Set to make their debut in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open and Invitational Conferences beginning in March, the team is poised to make a mark in the sport.
Named after Rebisco’s potato snack brand, Criss Cross offers a variety of flavors including creamy cheese, cheesy sour cream and onion, sweet pepper steak, classic potato, and sweet corn.
Lizanne Co, team manager, expressed her enthusiasm for the growing popularity of volleyball in the Philippines, particularly among men. She introduced the Criss Cross King Crunchers men’s team, led by team captain Ysay Marasigan and coached by Anusom “Tai” Bundit.
This move underscores Rebisco’s commitment to fostering volleyball development in the country, extending its support to men’s professional indoor volleyball. Rebisco’s involvement spans various levels, from grassroots and coaching/skills development through initiatives like the Rebisco Volleyball League and Rebisco Volleyball Academy, to collegiate support for the Ateneo Volleyball teams. At the professional level, Rebisco backs teams like the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the PVL, as well as the Philippine National teams for both men’s and women’s indoor and beach volleyball.
Co believes that men’s volleyball will continue to gain popularity, as evidenced by the enthusiastic crowds that gather to watch foreign men’s teams in the country. She is confident that local men’s teams have the potential to reach world-class standards.
