Pura Vida Manila in collaboration with Karissa Regaliza & Rohit SK, and special participation by Jägermeister and Lauvette, are excited to announce Besame Bailame: Afro Latin Dance Social taking place at Pura Vida Manila’s Costa Rican Reggae Lounge on July 24, 2022. At its opening night the social will feature a speed dating event for the singletons out there.
This Afro Latin Social event is unique in that it will be an event for everyone who wants to dance and socialize. The event aims to create a social space where people can explore their playful side by encouraging them to learn dance as a new way to connect with others (and perhaps finally delete those dating apps) to meet people organically while sharing the warm and sensual energy of everyday social dances – Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba & Zouk.
Registration will open at 5:30PM, and while waiting, participants can go over to our Lubrication Station to take a hit of “liquid courage” aka Jägermeister shots to boost up their courage before the festivities begin. At exactly 6PM the event will open with adult icebreaker activities. Designer love toys will be given out as prizes by none other than Lauvette, the Philippines’ premier destination for sexual wellness products, to the participants who play the flirtiest! Following that, the speed dating proper will commence. It will be a traditional set up where participants will be given 5 minutes with each other to sit and chat.
At 7PM the dancing will begin with an introductory dance class on Bachata Sensual taught by Rohit SK & Karissa Regaliza, this will equip new social dancers with the basic steps to be able to move confidently on the dance floor. Lastly, at 8PM the floor will officially open for social dancing with music by Pura Vida’s resident DJ, Theo Blanch, who will play a wide range of Afro-Latin music for everyone to dance their hearts out to.
