Pokémon and 7-Eleven Philippines partner up for themed stores and merchandise

Last September 13th, 2024, a press conference was held in Quezon City to formally launch the anticipated collaboration of 7-Eleven Philippines, one of the leading convenience store chains in the country, and Pokémon, a media franchise well-known and loved by fans of multiple generations.

Hosted by Myrtle Sarrosa, the event showcases the planned collaboration projects of 7-Eleven Philippines and Pokémon, which is projected to be a one-year partnership. One of the highlights, happily announced by Ms. Valerie Gayle Uy, 7-Eleven Division Head of Marketing Communications, include the Pokémon-themed packaging for 7-Eleven’s all-time favorite foods: Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur for Crunch Time; Pikachu and Snorlax for 7-Fresh Siopao; Meowth for Big Bite; Jigglypuff for Fundae; Gyarados for GULP; Eevee, Flareon, and Jolteon for the small, medium, and large cups of City Cafe respectively; and Umbreon for Prima.

Ms. Joyce Mak, the Emerging Markets Senior Manager for Niantic proudly announces that all 7-Eleven Philippines branches has turned into PokéStops for the mobile game Pokémon GO. Pokémon GO trainers can go to their nearest 7-Eleven branch and get more Pokéballs, in-game food items, and the like. It is also an opportunity to meet and bond with fellow trainers in catching the best Pokémon!

Mr. Susumu Fukunaga warmly welcomes the event attendees as he announces that the brand new Pokémon Trading Card Game: Stellar Crown booster pack series will be available in 1,500 7-Eleven Stores nationwide for P259 per pack. The pack also comes with a limited-edition Lapras promo card (packaged separately), which is truly a treat to all Pokémon TCG players, collectors, and fans.

A quick play-through and immersion of the TCG gameplay was hosted by veteran Pokémon TCG players and invited members of the press and Pokémon fans to play along. For first-time players, it does look complicated and difficult, but through the help of the veteran players, affectionately called “Professors”, time sure flies when you’re having fun playing the game.

The Pokémon-themed 7-Eleven branch is located in Eton Centris, Quezon City, and will open two more Pokémon-themed branches in Arnaiz, Makati and Casa Rosario, Cebu City. The store showcases artwork of everyone’s favorite Pokémon, including the classic starters such as Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.
