Podcasters from various backgrounds and with a wide range of experience came together in Makati City last Thursday to explore the evolving world of podcasting. The event, titled “Podcasts, Pizza, and Pints: The Future of Podcasting,” was hosted by The Pod Network, Anima Podcasts, and PumaPodcast in collaboration with Spotify. It provided a valuable forum for both seasoned podcasters and newcomers to the industry.
“These events are great for connecting with each other, especially for future collaborations,” said Lance Arevada of the podcast Ganito Kasi ‘Yan!. “I think we can all learn a lot from each other at events like this.”
“There aren’t many spaces for podcasters to connect in person, so this is really helpful,” added Jacob Maquiling, also from Ganito Kasi ‘Yan!. “It’s nice to finally meet everyone face-to-face.”
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of in-depth research that shed light on the motivations and demographics of podcast listeners in the Philippines.
“The data is crucial,” said Maquiling. “It helps us tailor our content to our audience.”
Participants also had the chance to interact with some of the country’s most prominent podcasters, including Leo Katigbak, host of FYE’s Best 10 Bets podcast and a film restoration advocate, and Bianca Gonzalez of Paano Ba ‘To Podcast.
“Even for those of us who have been doing this for a while, there’s always something new to learn from these podcasters,” said Arevada. “Their experiences and insights are invaluable.”
