This World AIDS Day, Taguig City and LoveYourself are joining forces to present the Love Gala 2024, themed “Eternal Elegance: A Night of Timeless Love.” Set to be an evening of sophistication and purpose, this year’s gala is dedicated to creating lasting change with the establishment of a Youth Center in Taguig. The center will offer essential services in HIV education, prevention, and healthcare to empower young people in a supportive, stigma-free environment.

Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wutzbach

Miss Universe 2015 and renowned HIV/AIDS advocate, Pia Wurtzbach, will lead the event’s mission, contributing exclusive memorabilia from her Miss Universe journey for auction. All auction proceeds will directly fund the Youth Center, furthering efforts to support and educate young people impacted by HIV. Pia’s involvement highlights the gala’s significance and demonstrates the power of unified action in tackling this critical issue.

The Taguig City government has partnered with LoveYourself to ensure comprehensive HIV services are accessible to young people in the area. Taguig already provides a robust suite of resources through its STI, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program, including free testing, group counseling, and medication. The new Youth Center will expand these offerings, fostering a safe space where youth can access vital health services and information without fear of discrimination.

As new HIV cases in the Philippines reach an alarming 58 daily, according to the Department of Health, the center’s opening is both timely and essential. LoveYourself’s extensive network of 50 community centers already supports over 250,000 individuals annually through HIV testing, treatment for 15,000 clients, PrEP and PEP access for 30,000 individuals, and widespread awareness initiatives. The Love Gala 2024 will celebrate these ongoing efforts while rallying further support for the cause.

Attendees can make a meaningful impact by bidding on Pia’s memorabilia or donating to support the Youth Center. The Love Gala is made possible through collaborations with the City of Taguig, leading HIV advocacy groups, the Center for Advanced Dentistry, IBM Philippines, the Office of the First Lady, Tei Endencia, and Events by Ms. P, all of whom have played key roles in bringing this event to life.

Join the Love Gala 2024 to celebrate hope, elegance, and a brighter future for Filipino youth affected by HIV.
