Hoagies, the new sandwich guy in town! Php 88 for an 8 inches sandwich? That’s a bargain!
I went to SM North Edsa Annex building to buy a new hard disk for my laptop. While on the upper ground floor, I saw this sign on a new sandwich shop called Hoagies that caught my attention. The sign showing that for the introductory price of Php 88 you get an 8 inch sub/sandwich pulled me inside the shop.
I looked at the menu board and saw that the sandwiches they are offering for Php 88 are really costing more but was cheaper because they were on introductory price.
I wanted to go for the Ham and Cheese but its already out of stock. I love sandwiches because it gives me an alternative to our Filipino typical rice and viand meals but still satisfies my hunger and cravings! I was bit disappointed that it was only Chorizo and Adobe variants that we available. I just wanted a break from the typical Pinoy flavored food.
I just ordered a Chori Special instead. It’s a Chorizo (Sausage) Burger sub. According to the girl in the counter, it comes only with certain vegetables and sauce. However, she said that you can add more veggies and/or sauces free of charge. I opted for more veggies (for it to be healthier kuno!) and extra sauce. I instructed her to put lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and splash it with a bit of honey mustard sauce.

8 inches of white bread with chorizo burger loaded with veggies spiced with jalapeno in front of me ready to be devoured to satisfy my craving 🙂
It was good! The chorizo meat was not bad but with the veggies and the sauces it was great! I enjoyed the sandwich.
I enjoyed it so much that I wanted another one. I decided to go for another flavor, this time the Pulled Pork Adobo.

My adobo sandwich ready! |
Although I know that I won’t be able to eat another 8 inch sandwich, I did not ask the lady to cut it into half. My plan was of course still to eat a part and take out the remainder. I just wanted to hold the whole 8 inches of the sandwich to make me feel that I’m eating something different (not adobo in pandesal he he he ).
Customized as well, the adobe pulled pork sandwich loaded with meat, veggies and just a bit of sauce and jalapenos. It was ok but not as tasty adobo but I still enjoyed it. It was bit bland for me but with extra sauces it will be a great sandwich to enjoy if you like the adobo flavoring.
As expected, I could not finish the sandwich and gave it for wrapping to take out. The previous 8 inch sandwich was quite filling 🙂
I’m glad I found another option for eating sandwiches in addition to my favorite sandwich shop Subway.
They have 3 branches, SM North Annex, SM Fairview and SM Southmall. You can learn more about the place on their Hoagies Facebook page.
I will definitely visit them to try out their other subs especially their Philly Cheesesteak!
Tried it first at SM Fairview, it was indeed satisfying for 88 bucks. Since then I grab two eight inch chorizo burger after a heavy work out session.
