A new cinematic masterpiece is set to captivate audiences at this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) as it marks its 50th year. Uninvited, a gripping thriller-drama, brings together some of Philippine cinema’s brightest stars in a story of mystery, revenge, and shocking revelations.

A Star-Studded Cast

Leading the powerful ensemble are Aga Muhlach, Nadine Lustre, and the iconic Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos. They are joined by a stellar lineup, including RK Bagatsing, Mylene Dizon, Lotlot de Leon, Gabby Padilla, Elijah Canlas, Ketchup Eusebio, Gio Alvarez, Cholo Barretto, Ron Angeles, and Tirso Cruz III.

This collaboration of celebrated actors promises a memorable cinematic experience, elevating Uninvited to must-watch status.

From the Creators of Mallari

Produced by Mentorque Productions—the studio behind the multi-awarded horror hit Mallari—and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Uninvited is poised to be another milestone in Filipino filmmaking. This marks the first collaboration between Mentorque and Project 8 Projects, further raising the bar for local productions.

“Hindi Lang ’To Basta Party!”

The tagline, “Hindi lang ’to basta party!” (“This is no ordinary party!”), hints at the suspenseful layers within the film. Uninvited delves deep into secrets, revenge, and the complex connections between its characters.

Directed by Dan Villegas, returning to filmmaking after a six-year hiatus, and written by acclaimed screenwriter Dodo Dayao, the film is a bold testament to Filipino storytelling at its finest.

Plot Synopsis

Uninvited follows the gripping story of Eva Candelaria (Vilma Santos), a mother seeking justice for the murder of her daughter ten years ago. The trail leads her to Guilly Vega (Aga Muhlach), a wealthy businessman and the man she believes is responsible.

Disguised as a socialite, Eva infiltrates Guilly’s extravagant birthday party with a singular mission: revenge. But as the night unfolds, she encounters unexpected twists, leaving her questioning who the true villain is—Guilly or his enigmatic daughter, Nicole (Nadine Lustre). With no weapons or solid plan, Eva must make life-or-death decisions in her pursuit of justice.

A Celebration of Filipino Talent

As MMFF celebrates its golden anniversary, Uninvited stands as a gift to Filipino audiences, showcasing the resilience and artistry of local filmmakers. John Bryan Diamante, CEO of Mentorque Productions, underscores the film’s significance:

“We know how challenging life is today for many Filipinos. Watching movies in theaters has become a luxury, so we made sure this film is worth every peso.”

With its thought-provoking narrative and Hollywood-level production, Uninvited highlights the best of Filipino creativity.
