Kristine Tang Chan, Vice President for Marketing at P&G Philippines, was bestowed with the distinguished title of “Chief Marketing Officer of the Year.” This well-deserved recognition highlights her exceptional leadership in transforming P&G’s multi-million dollar brands into powerful catalysts for growth and positive change in the Philippines and Asia. With 16 years of experience at P&G, Kristine has been instrumental in the growth of various Fabric and Home Care brands such as Tide, Downy, and Joy across multiple markets. Additionally, she has showcased her passion and dedication to developing the next generation of P&G marketing leaders by nurturing and guiding talent throughout the Philippines and Asia, from new hires to senior brand leaders.
Mariel Chavez, Regional Brand Director for P&G Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, was named the “2022 Young Marketing Leader of the Year.” This esteemed recognition acknowledges her versatile leadership and ability to transform business challenges and consumer opportunities into impactful initiatives that have fostered sustainable growth for Tide and Downy in the Philippines. Chavez’s contributions have been highlighted by Tide’s successful campaign evolution to “Tide Perfect Clean” and her ability to drive growth for Downy despite the challenges posed by the pandemic through the “Downy Bye Bye Bahayrus” campaign.
Ralph Morales, Laundry Brand Director for P&G Philippines, clinched the “2023 Young Marketing Leader of the Year” award, marking a back-to-back win for P&G in this category. Morales played a pivotal role in the business turnaround of Ariel, leading to its market leadership position. Prior to this, he spearheaded highly successful campaigns for Gillette, including “Gillette Rewards” and “Groom-from-home.” Morales is also passionate about nurturing future brand leaders and was recognized as the “P&G Coach of the Year” in 2022. He also teaches marketing classes at a top university, further contributing to the development of marketing talent.
P&G’s Project LESS Sustainability Initiative secured the Bronze Award in the Corporate Purpose and Sustainability category under “Care for the Environment.” This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to reducing waste through the implementation of more sustainable packaging alternatives throughout its supply chain operations. Project LESS involved transforming single-use laminate-based bellybands and stickers into 100% FSC-certified papers, introducing flexible and sustainable point-of-sale materials (POSMs) and displays, and utilizing sustainable honeycomb-like wrappers made from P&G cartons for last-mile packaging in e-commerce deliveries.
