Developer SpaceRocket Games and publisher Toplitz Productions proudly announce Permafrost, an exciting new addition to the survival game genre with a chilling narrative. Permafrost thrusts players into a bleak, open-world urban landscape where survival is not just a choice—it’s a necessity.
Following the cataclysmic ‘shattering,’ an apocalyptic moon phase phenomenon, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction as the world succumbs to an eternal deep freeze. The game depicts the collapse of political and economic structures, with the deadly winter cold resulting in billions of deaths.
As a survivor, adaptability is key. Brave bone-chilling sub-zero temperatures that affect character capabilities, hunt elusive prey, and repurpose salvaged machinery to craft essential survival tools. Beware of dangers lurking at every turn—from hostile factions vying for control to the ever-present threat of natural predators.
Players in Permafrost have the opportunity to prevent further extinction by building shelters and establishing peace among scattered communities. They can forge their own paths, whether banding together to rebuild society or carving out a place in the unforgiving wilderness. Permafrost will offer both single-player and co-op play for up to 4 players and is scheduled to launch on Steam Early Access in 2025 on PC. An eternal winter is coming.
